BCR x MCW 2022
For August, we’re taking this show on the road: BCR’s August rally will once again be part of the constellation of automotive events known as Monterey Car Week. Just like our inaugural outing last year, we will be the only officially-sanctioned MCW event with no entry fee and $ZERO corporate sponsorship. You should also know that THE ROADS ARE AMAZING.
IMPORTANT: For BCR x MCW 2022, we’ll be handpicking participating cars to make sure we hit all the notes of that perfect ‘BCR mix’- old & new, fancy & scruffy, foreign & domestic, exotic & kinda mundane. Only 100 cars will be selected - eighty 1999 & earlier cars, twenty 2000 & later cars.
Before the rally, we’ll meet at 8am at an undisclosed start point in Carmel for a little pre-rally social hour. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL groups) 5 minutes apart; we’ll be done around noon, touching down in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Old and/or interesting cars (& people) of most makes and models are welcome.
Update: August 15, 2022 at 1:50pm
Late Registration is closed. This event is completely sold out.
If you submitted an Eligibility Check, you’ll receive an email from BCR HQ by Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 regarding whether or not you’ve been awarded a spot on the rally.
Additional info:
This event is free, though contributions are encouraged.
Drivers must be at least 18 years old. Registration is valid for a single driver (named in the registration application).
Co-drivers welcome: fill out appropriate section of registration form.
Please give the surrounding shops your business and tip well- let’s not be freeloaders.
Don’t make us say “no burnouts.” You’re better than that, right?
BCR has a strict “No Suitcasing” policy: this is a drive, not a marketing opportunity. Leave your logos, leaflets, FOR SALE signs, stickers, business cards, flyers, and branded trinkets at home.
The drive begins staging at 9am and will take about 3 hrs. Drive at a speed comfortable to you, taking into consideration weather and road conditions, always yield to quicker vehicles, and never pass on a double yellow line.
A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent the week of the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.
Roads are pretty smooth the whole way; usual bumps and such, nothing major.
Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; limited gas stations along the route.
Cell reception unavailable in some areas.
People live and work in these areas we drive through. Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
