Blacktop Friday
SOLD OUT. Thank you.
The monthly Breakfast Club Rally will always be free. This is something a little different; November 26th at 8:30am, it’s Blacktop Friday 2021.
What’s Blacktop Friday? It’s whatever WE feel like driving. Last year we wanted to go off-pavement a bit, so we did. This year, it’s all about NO FRILLS. No cars & coffee, a much smaller group, and a pure driver-focused loop of continuous curves (90 miles, if you’re counting), including a sublime stretch of freshly-laid asphalt. And the beauty of it all? You’ll still be done by noon.
Before the rally, we’ll meet at 8:30am at an undisclosed start point in Calistoga. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL groups) 5 minutes apart. We’ll be done before noon, at which point you can grab lunch in Calistoga, go wine/beer-tasting, shop small businesses, or just head on home.
Tickets are $30. What does your $30 get you? Only this: an email with starting time, location (somewhere in Calistoga, CA), and route directions, a rally decal on arrival, and an amazing morning out on Northern California’s best backroads with a small crüe of like-minded drivers. Old and/or interesting cars (& people) of all makes and models are welcome.
Additional info:
This event is “mostly vintage” and “brand-agnostic.” It’s not Euro-only, Vintage-only, or Anything-only. That said, please keep modern car entries to “enthusiast” models and other “interesting“ vehicles- sports cars, low production runs, unusual/exotic marques, things like that. Post-1999 SUV’s/CUV’s/trucks/minivans are not eligible.
The registration fee for this event is $30 per vehicle. Once purchased, there are no refunds; before you click “Buy Ticket," triple-check that you are available on the date in question and that your car is in working mechanical order for the drive.
This event is rain or shine.
Drivers must be at least 18 years old. Registration is valid for a single driver (the one named in the registration application). If more than 1 driver is desired: (1) submit rally registration (with the info of the primary driver), (2) request an additional driver agreement from compliance@breakfastclubrally.com, and (3) the other driver signs and submits the agreement for our review and, if thought fit, approval.
Don’t make us say “no burnouts.” You’re better than that, right?
The drive begins staging at 9am and will take 2-3 hrs. Please drive at speeds comfortable to you, yielding to quicker vehicles, and never crossing solid double-yellow lines to pass another car.
A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent a week before the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.
Roads on the route are pretty good; usual bumps and such, nothing unusual.
Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; it’s a long drive with limited gas stations.
Cell reception unavailable in some areas.
Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
