Tokyo Calling

This event is SOLD OUT. Thanks.

The monthly Breakfast Club Rally will always be free and open to all makes. This is something a little different: March 19th at 8am, it’s Tokyo Calling, an all-Japanese, mostly-vintage rally.

Before the rally, we’ll meet at 8am at an undisclosed start point in Sonoma, CA to hang out and get caffeinated. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL groups) 5 minutes apart. We’ll loop back around to end in Sonoma around noon, at which point you can grab lunch, relax and soak up the North Bay vibes, or just head on home.

Tickets are $35 (credit cards only; sorry, PayPal fans). What does your $35 get you? Only this: a parking sticker, an email with starting time, location, and route directions, and an amazing morning out on Northern California’s best backroads with a crüe of like-minded drivers.

What cars are eligible?
Any pre-1999 Japanese-made car, truck, utility vehicle, or van. Additionally, certain post-1999 cars are welcome to apply- specifically, “enthusiast” models and other “interesting“ vehicles- sports cars, low production runs, unusual/exotic marques, etc. Some examples of eligible post-1999 cars: Honda S2000, Nissan GTR, Toyota Supra, Acura NSX, Toyota MR2, Mitsubishi Evolution, Subaru WRX STI, kei cars, imported JDM models, etc. Post-1999 SUVs/CUVs/trucks/minivans are not eligible.

All applications are subject to review and approval by BCR; in the case your application is not accepted, your ticket fee will be refunded.

Additional info:

The registration fee for this event is $35 per vehicle. Once your application is accepted by BCR, there are no refunds; before you click “Purchase Ticket," triple-check that you are available on the date in question and that your car is in working mechanical order for the drive.

This event is rain or shine.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old. Registration is valid for a single driver (the one named in the registration application). Co-Drivers welcome. You'll be able to designate a Co-Driver in your application. Your Co-Driver will be sent a link via email to complete a Co-Driver Agreement. Co-Drivers will also receive rally communiqués.

Don’t make us say “no burnouts.” You’re better than that, right?

The drive begins staging at 9am and will take 2-3 hrs, beginning and ending in Sonoma. Please drive at speeds comfortable to you, yielding to quicker vehicles, and never crossing solid double-yellow lines to pass another car.

A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent a week before the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.

Roads on the route are pretty good; usual bumps and such, nothing unusual.

Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; it’s a long drive with limited gas stations.

Cell reception unavailable in some areas.

Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
