Bit of an adventure in store for y’all this month: a four county run on a few stretches of asphalt you don’t often see on BCR’s. We’ll set sail from Sonoma, CA (a few miles from Sonoma Plaza) over 100 miles of lonely backroads, pausing briefly in the awesome ol’ town of Winters, before coming to a rest on historic Mare Island.
Once we hit Mare Island, our friends at Kindred Motorworks will roll up their doors for a shop tour, and you’ll be able to grab lunch, soak in some naval history, go for a hike, or just head on home.
On Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at 8am, we’ll meet at an undisclosed start point in Sonoma, California for a little pre-rally social hour. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL) 5 minutes apart; we’ll be done around 11:45am.
Old and/or interesting cars (& people) of most makes and models are welcome; see exceptions listed below. 80% of the rally will be vintage vehicles, and the remaining 20% will be modern vehicles.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old. Registration is valid for a single driver (named in the registration application).
Co-drivers (18 or over) who deliver a co-driver agreement , navigators, and passengers welcome.
During the Pre-Registration period, a $50 fee is charged for registration; this fee will be refunded in full if your vehicle is not accepted.
During the Open Registration period, this event is on a ‘pay what you want’ system - you’ll have the opportunity to include a payment with your registration application; it will be refunded in full if your vehicle is not accepted. Note: payment levels may be one of many factors in our consideration of your application.
During the Late Registration period, only applications for 1999 and earlier vehicles will be accepted with a donation of $50 to our chosen animal/community non-profit for that month.
The drive begins staging at 9am and takes roughly 2.75 hrs. Drive within posted limits, taking into consideration weather and road conditions, always yield to quicker vehicles, and never pass on a double yellow line.
A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent the week of the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.
Roads are generally pretty smooth; usual bumps and such, nothing major.
Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; limited gas stations along the route.
Cell reception unavailable in some areas.
People live and work in these areas we drive through. Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
