Attention people of the J-Tin persuasion: Tokyo Calling®, an all-Japanese, mostly-vintage rally is returning for its third run through the North Bay on August 26th, 2023.
Before the rally, we’ll meet at 8am at an undisclosed start point in the town of Sonoma, CA to hang out and get caffeinated. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL) 5 minutes apart. After a ~100 mile spin through some of the best twisties in Northern California, we’ll land back in Sonoma around noon, at which point you can grab lunch and a glass of wine, or just relax and soak up the Sonoma County vibes at one of the region’s raddest wineries.
Tickets are $50 (credit cards / Apple Pay). What does your $50 get you? Only this: a parking sticker, an email with starting time, location, and route directions, and an amazing morning out on Northern California’s best backroads with a crüe of like-minded drivers.
What cars are eligible?
Any 1999 and earlier Japanese-made car, truck, utility vehicle, or van. Additionally, certain 2000 and later cars are welcome to apply- specifically, “enthusiast” models and other “interesting“ vehicles- sports cars, low production runs, unusual/exotic marques, etc. Some examples of eligible post-1999 cars: Honda S2000, Nissan GTR, Toyota Supra, Acura NSX, Toyota MR2, Mitsubishi Evolution, Subaru WRX STI, kei cars, imported JDM models, etc. Post-1999 SUVs/CUVs/trucks/minivans are not eligible.*
All applications are subject to review and approval by BCR; in the case your application is not accepted, your ticket fee will be refunded. Ticket is per vehicle - not per person. Share the good times; feel free to bring as many people as your car can safely seat.
*If in doubt your vehicle is eligible, you can check prior to submitting an application - click here.

Don’t make us say “no burnouts.” You’re better than that, right?
BCR has a strict “No Suitcasing” policy: this is a drive, not a marketing opportunity. Leave your logos, leaflets, FOR SALE signs, stickers, business cards, flyers, and branded trinkets at home.
The drive begins staging at 9am and will take about 2.5 hrs. Drive at a speed comfortable to you, taking into consideration weather and road conditions, always yield to quicker vehicles, and never pass on a double yellow line.
A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent the week of the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.
Roads are pretty smooth the whole way; usual bumps and such, nothing major.
Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; limited gas stations along the route.
Cell reception unavailable in some areas.
People live and work in these areas we drive through. Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
